Oheka Castle, a magnificent Gold Coast Mansion, resting majestically atop the highest point of Long Island, emanates the elegant refinement of the Chateaux in France, combined with world-class service and a rich history that is distinctly American. OHEKA has been celebrating the art of entertaining since 1919, when financier and patron of the arts, Otto HErmann KAhn, commissioned celebrated architects, Delano and Aldrich, to design his palatial country residence to accommodate Kahn’s fondness to host lavish parties.
Today, Oheka continues Kahn's legacy, and is recognized as a prestigious wedding and event venue and is a member of Historic Hotels of America boasting 32 luxurious guestrooms and suites situated on the upper floors of the estate, where guests can sleep like royalty. Visitors to the Castle can take Historic Mansion Tours of the estate and gardens, or wine and dine in the newly opened OHEKA Bar & Restaurant which offers patrons sophisticated American cuisine in authentic Europe ambiance.

What was your design inspiration for Oheka Castle?

The French Chateaux in France.

What is unique about your property?

The beautiful architecture and design of the estate and gardens offer guests the sense that they are visiting a Castle in Europe, right here in America.

What was important about having Frette in your property?

Traditional, classic furnishings and fabrications; rich and inviting color palettes; a gracious bed fitted with ultra-comfortable mattresses and Frette linens.
